Creating an Outline for a Video Shoot | Crew Mama - We understand that creating an outline for a video shoot can be stressful because there are a lot of important parts. You have to put in a lot of work before the day of the shoot comes around. Creating a breakdown of what to do before the shoot day ends up being such a relief because you will have it all outlined and accessible on the day of the actual shoot!
First, ask yourself why are you even making a video? Know your purpose. You need to be passionate about the video you are making, so you can put your vision to life! After you fully define the purpose, you need to understand your audience. Who do you want to watch this video? Do you want adults in their thirties or five-year-olds? This is a key part of preparing for a video shoot. Once you decide your audience, you need to constantly keep that in mind, so that the style of your video represents your audience.
After you have determined both the purpose and audience you will want to start getting creative and brainstorm how your video will look. This is the fun part! A great way to get some ideas for your video is by looking at other people’s videos. Pull a couple of ideas from watching others, but twist them into something that represents more of what you want! Again, be sure to keep your audience in mind, so you can catch their eye!
Creating an outline time! Crew Mama knows this part isn’t as fun as the last step, but you already have it mainly figured out. Now you are going to combine all the previous parts and put them on paper. How are you going to start the video? What equipment will you need for that part? How long will each scene be? Make that the first part of the outline. Then, you are going to do that for each scene.
You officially are ready for your video shoot! Be sure to bring your outline with you on that day, so you know it is going to play out. If you ever need a video shoot crew, give Crew Mama a call!
