Styling a Client for the Red Carpet | Crew Mama - Do you ever dream of going to the red carpet? Us too! Luckily, one of Crew Mama's preferred makeup artists, Dawn Mattocks, was able to style Phelipe Cruz for the Grammy’s this past weekend. Ms. Mattocks was eager to get him all dolled up for the big day. Phelipe was very warm and outgoing, just like Ms. Mattocks. As you can see below, they had a great time together!
After many conversations with Ms. Mattocks, Crew Mama learned that a lot goes into getting someone ready for the red carpet. Phelipe needed to look dressed to the nines for interviewing everyone. Phelipe is a journalist and interviewer for Turner Network. He wanted to stand out at the Grammy’s, so Ms. Mattocks made that happen.
When you are styling a client for the red carpet, you must have all their measurements ahead of time, so you can order an outfit as soon as possible. However, Phelipe realized he did not know his measurements, so Ms. Mattock’s made a special trip over to his hotel and got him all measured!
Phelipe had his eye on a green jacket, so Dawn moved mountains to get a green tuxedo jacket in his size within one day! She is a miracle worker! The producers and Philepe all went crazy over his green jacket. It was the perfect tuxedo for him, not to mention it fit like a glove.
Ms. Mattocks had each garment pressed and placed in a holder, so nobody could see what he was wearing. He wanted his entire outfit to be a surprise to everyone! Lastly, she applied minimal makeup, so he could be camera ready. Phelipe and Ms. Mattocks had a wonderful time together! She loved styling him for the red carpet.
